Gabba Gabba Hey!

This Saturday marks the 7th Annual Johnny Ramone Tribute Concert,  honoring the life & legacy of the famous guitarist of the Ramones.

The event will take place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and will also feature performances from some punk rock favorites and more!

This special event will include performances from horror punk heroes the Misfits, as well as from Misfits Records band, JuiceheaD.

The tribute to  Johnny Ramone (aka John Cummings), who passed away in 2004 after a battle with cancer, continues with an outdoor double-feature viewing of the Ramones’ 1977 performance on Don Kirsher’s Rock Concert, and the classic Ed Wood cult film, Plan 9 from Outer Space IN 3D!

Taking place at the famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery, fans can visit the memorial statue and grave site of Johnny, as well as pay their respects to Dee Dee Ramone.

The band’s surviving original member, drummer Tommy Ramone, will be in attendance, and available for a meet & greet with fans.

Tickets are available for $10, and proceeds benefit the Johnny Ramone Research Fund at USC Westside Prostate Cancer Research Center. For more information, check out the official Johnny Ramone website.

F YEAH!!!! Now I finally get to recognize myself publicly! Yes, 5:06 into the first youtube video you can see me behind the dude with the pink shirt in the lower center of the video next to the dude with the plaid shirt. That dude with the plaid shirt was my psychobilly buddy who was as nostalgic as I during that whole gig. Yeah, I banged the hell out of my head, obviously from that few seconds of seeing me putting my fist up in the air rocking out. That was such a great tribute to the Ramones and to know that my voice, amongst the rest of the crowd, were the last live audience Johnny Ramone got to hear before his passing. “Hey Ho! Let’s Go! Hey Ho! Let’s Go!” I’ll never ever forget that show and still wear my official concert shirt with pride. LONG LIVE THE RAMONES!!! Great post Caitlyn! Bummer I don’t have a ride or gas money or anything to get me down to that cemetary tribute. I’d love to see the Misfits do some Ramones tracks. Tommy Ramone is such a true hardcore punkrocker man! Still livin’ on through the ages man. He invented the punk drum beat.
