Arcade Fire’s Win Butler And Pearl Jam Hoop It Up For Charity

With the NBA lockout getting closer and closer to the actual season, and no end in sight, rock stars have taken their baller skills to the courts to fill the void. Grammy winners Arcade Fire are leading the way, playing in two consecutive Canadian charity tournaments over the past week.
Frontman Win Butler — who played high school ball in Texas and New Hampshire — puts on quite the highlight show, along with his brother, guitarist Will, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament (who played in college), and a few NBA players that (I’d imagine) had a pretty open schedule.

Arcade Fire (and wonderful basketball blog The Basketball Jones) help put together both “Rock the Court” in Toronto and “Pop vs. Jock” in Montreal just a few days later to raise money for local charities.
In the video below, it appears Win has some serious game: he beat Matt Bonner, a three-point specialist for the Spurs, in a shooting contest, hits a couple open long-range bombs, hits a tough running lay-up in the lane — all while rocking an impressive headband and rockstar haircut.
You could say Win was “Ready to Start“, am I right?
Does anyone else long for the days of MTV’s Rock N’ Jock games in the 90′s?
