What Are Your Favorite Guilty Pleasure Movies?

pointbreak1 What Are Your Favorite Guilty Pleasure Movies?

Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in "Point Break"

It seems like most movies coming out of Hollywood lately have been either sequels or remakes.  Recently, it has been reported that next on deck for a re-do is Point Break.

The original, starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze about a gang of bank robbing surfers,  is considered one of the ”best bad movies” ever made that Ralph says that he can’t turn off.

Showgirls was one of Lisa’s “go-to” movies, and Dave can’t resist movies like Save the Last Dance. We asked you for your favorites as well, and you did not disappoint.

Listeners called in this morning with some great ones:

Battlefield Earth: Listener Eric called in to give us this John Travolta clunker.  Bean and Ralph couldn’t believe anyone could even finish this movie, much less give it repeat viewings. Eric said he loves the invasion aspect of the movies, and of course Travolta’s dreadlocks.

Tremors: This Kevin Bacon movie was Listener Matt’s pick.  Matt added that he’s seen it so many times that he’s lost count. Who doesn’t love giant sand monsters?

Surf Ninjas: Listener Tyler had to pick this early 90’s kids movie. It was Rob Schneider’s first movie, with the late Leslie Nielsen as the villain.

Deep Blue Sea: Listen Sean called in and said he keeps comes back again and again to this shark movie.  Tom Jane as the hero, LL Cool J as the cook, super smart sharks… come on! I see this one on cable constantly, and I admit, I’ve turned in plenty of times.

PAGE 2 What did our Facebook fans have to say?

We also got a ton of input on our Facebook page.  Here’s are some of the best (or worst)  answers:

White Chicks:

Street Fighter:

Air Heads:

Dude, Where’s My Car:

Killer Clowns From Outer Space:

One of my guilty pleasures is Idle Hands. It. Is. Terrible. Devon Sawa’s hand gets possessed, Seth Green is a zombie with a bottle in his head, and Dexter Holland of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Offspring[/lastfm] dies (poorly):

I can confidently say “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” is my guilty pleasure! I’ve definately watched it over a 100 times since it first came out. An actual classic!

  2. Brandon says:

I’ve got to be completely honest and admit my love of terrible disaster movies. You know the ones I mean – those made-for-TV miniseries sorts, like “10.5” or “Category 6: Day of Destruction” or even “The Andromeda Strain”… I absolutely cannot resist a bad, four-hour-long disaster movie. Especially when it stars a washed-up celebrity (Kim Delaney, Beau Bridges, Tiffany, etc.).

  3. Conrad says:

I’ve got two for you “She’s All That,” and “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” She’s All That, just brings back a ton of memories, and Rachel Cook, is just to adorable to ignore. But I can’t explain the other movie, I just have to watch the damn thing.

TWISTER!!!! I don’t now but I can’t help it. I think I like it because its so mediocre that I can half watch it easy. I refer to it as my laundry movie.

  5. SP says:

“Cry-baby” Wade Walker (Johnny Depp), also known as Cry-Baby is the best Greaser ever. I know this movie is stupid, but I could absolutely watch it over and over again…I love it! Johnny Depp is so caliente!
