The 10 Worst ’90s Songs According To Rolling Stone Readers Poll

YOU like bad music!
Looking back in time never really does us any good, does it? I mean, sure, there’s memories, and photographs and stuff, but there’s also some terrible music! We tend to look back and think, “Oh no! I OWNED that CD cassette!” Ok, ok, most of us did finally have CDs in the 90s, but whatever method we used to listen to music produced the same results.
Rolling Stone magazine constructs lists from time to time that shed light on just how bad we are as consumers. The latest enlightenment came in the form of a Worst Songs of the 90s readers poll. We had to discuss this Top 10 list on the Kevin & Bean show, and have listeners weigh in on accuracy of said list.

I’m sure we can agree that some of these 10 Worst Songs were liked at some point. This is both awesome and troubling. Limiting this list to just 10 songs though doesn’t seem to do the 90s justice! There are so many more terrible songs. Among those that didn’t make the top 10 list, but deserve an honorable mention, are the following gems:
- Len – “Steal My Sunshine”
- Crash Test Dummies – “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm”
- Tag Team – “Whoomp There It Is”
- Lou Bega – “Mambo No. 5″
- Spice Girls – “Wannabe”
- Limp Bizkit – “Nookie”
- 69 Boyz – “Tootsee Roll”
- Vengaboys – “We Like To Party”
- Outhere Brothers – “Boom Boom Boom”
Those aren’t even the ones that made the actual list. The list is practically indisputable. Continue on to see the tragic music that infiltrated our youth.

The 90′s was the last decade with any really great music. The 10-worst according to R.S. readers are people who probaly still use cassette and 8-track tapes and still get up to change TV chanels. Many of these top 10 are really good songs – except for #7,6,4,3. YUCK!

I went to high school in the 00s and I heard barbie girl by aqua blared at so many high school dances. a song that sucks is forgotten about, but barbie girl way outlived the normal life span of a pop dance song and its STILL kind’ve catchy.
Tubthumping is admittedly kind’ve silly, but anyone who thinks its an actually bad song has no sense of humor.

What about Wean’s “Push the Little Daisies”. That has to be the most annoyingly stupid song ever made. I can’t believe it’s not on the list.

Totally agree with Ween’s Push Em Little Daisies. Awful, awful song. I’ll add… Baz Luhrman’s Everybody’s Free, Bloodhound Gang’s The Bad Touch, Gerardo’s Rico Suave, Informer’s Snow… and anything by Color Me Badd.

C’mon. EVERYONE was bumping Ice Ice Baby back in ’91! That doesn’t make it a good song, but it became so trendy to hate it after Vanilla Ice was exposed as a fraud nobody wants to cop to liking it. If you try to say that you didn’t like it back then you’re f#*king lying…
