Warning: don’t plan on going to the second story of, well, anything via an escalator after watching the new video for the hard-charging song “My Machines” from Battles. Throw in a doom-and-gloom guest spot from goth-rock god Gary Numan and you have classic, mind-blowing (seemingly) one-take video.

Battles is a insanely talented math-rock trio of 30-somethings that formed in 2002 with former members of Helmet and Don Cabllero. They are primarily an instrumental band, with drummer John Stanier in the drivers seat of epic, precise math-rock style tracks. Their debut album Mirrored was well received, so plenty of Gary Numan-like music legends contributed on their latest album, Gloss Drop.

The clip comes via The Creators Project, which brings cutting-edge directors together with bands. Gloss Drop is out now on Warp Records.

And can we please get a slow-clap going for the stunt-man that had to endure an almost death-by-escalator for who knows how long?
