Rodney On The Roq Artist Spotlight: The Stone Foxes

Hailing from the colorful streets of San Francisco, The Stone Foxes are hell-bent on keeping the spirit and sounds of old school rock n’ roll alive. They’ve been blowing off roofs for almost six years now with their mesh of 60′s/70′s formulas agglutinated with 21st century production, and it’s about time you formally introduced yourself.
Inspired by our heroes from rock music’s glory days, such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones, The Stone Foxes thrive within the realm of unadulterated blues-rock. They’re raw, rugged, and loud. What more can a KROQ listener ask for?

Rock n’ roll purists will certainly welcome The Stone Foxes, and all the riff heavy goodness they bring to the stage. They’ve still got quite a climb on the modern day rock mountain where bands like The Black Keys and Kings of Leon currently reside, but The Stone Foxes are steadily paving their way with songs that shake rattle and roll the soul. Beastly tracks like “Mr. Hangman” arouse and please both the aural and visceral domains. Rodney has taken a liking to their single “Psycho,” a gritty diddy with crunchy guitars and howling vox. The band has already birthed two full-length EP’s with 2008′s The Stone Foxes and 2010′s Bears and Bulls.
