Jesus Loves “Red State” AND “The Dark Knight!” Kevin Smith Dishes On His New Flick And The Almighty’s Taste In Film

Writer/Actor/Director/generally awesome dude Kevin Smith, is under attack by super religious group Westboro Baptist Church for the negative portrayal of religious fanatics in his new movie “Red State” (which our own Ralph Garman stars in).
Seeing as Silent Bob isn’t new to this whole church groupie hate thing (“Dogma,” anyone?), he was quick to respond to the church’s threats to disrupt his movies release with some input from Jesus, the real man in charge, about the film.

Smith says that in his candid discussion with the Jesus, the big guy told him “he loved “Red State”. He said it makes up for “Cop Out.”"Smith also wanted fans to know that Jesus is a big comic book guy who “loves all the “Dark Knight” footage he’s seen so far on TMZ.” Considering the guy’s omniscient, you kind of have to take his word on stuff being good.
Jesus obviously has way better taste than the Westboro folks who also decided to picket a Foo Fighters concert a few days after their faux trucker porn video “Hot Buns” hit the internet. What’s next, Westboro? You seem to be opposed to everything cool so rather than looking for things to like, I’ll just check out things you hate. Best free publicity ever!

This is something that Kevin Smith should be proud of! Those Kansas inbred rednecks picketing his movie will give it priceless publicity. That makes me want to go see Red State even more, despite being a proud Christian. I looked those Westboro Baptists protesters straight in the eye at Comic Con last year & I could see Satan starring right back at me! Go get, em, Kevin!
