The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been together since 1983. In those nearly thirty years, they have put out a ton of videos. From some very raw looking footage to slickly produced epics and even some animated sequences, the RHCP have run the gamut.
All this week we’re premiering new tracks from the Chili Peppers, so here’s a look back throughout the years at some of their most memorable videos.
THE EARLY YEARS
“True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes” from The Red Hot Chili Peppers (1984)
The Red Hot Chili Peppers very first video from their eponymous debut album, released back in 1984.
“Catholic School Girls Rule” from Freaky Styley (1985)
From their second album, Freaky Styley, this video has been aired only once on TV, and that was on the Playboy Channel. Was it because Kiedis sings from atop cross? After watching the video, we’re guessing probably not…
“Fight Like A Brave” from Uplift Mofo Party Plan (1987)
After the release of Freaky Styley, Kiedis was briefly kicked out of the Chili Peppers because of his drug use. Kiedis soon cleaned up his act and was welcomed back. He wrote this song chronicling his struggles with addiction.
