Weezer Pumps Up Their Kicks – Covers Foster The People

Recently at the O.C. Fair, Weezer added yet another stellar cover song into their repertoire.
The legendary So Cal band, who has covered the likes of MGMT, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Coldplay and even Lady Gaga, surprised the Pacific Amphitheater crowd by pulled off a near note-perfect play-by-play of Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.”
Dare I say their rocked-up version of the mid-tempo song adds some much-needed flavor?
Hopefully Weezer will rock this impressive cover, along with — who knows! — maybe even some newer ones (some Blink-182?) when they headline the Doheny Days Music Festival on September 11th at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, along with Ben Harper, Cake, Ziggy Marley, G. Love & Special Sauce, Neon Trees and more. Get tickets HERE.
And for good measure, here is the band’s 2009 mashup of MGMT’s “Kids” and Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”
Weezer has certainly come a long way since Pinkerton.

I was there, and can honestly say, they made it a lot better than Foster ever could.
