Peter, Bjorn & John Debut Full-Length Music Movie ‘Gimme Some’

With super pop-rocking Swedes Peter Bjorn and John set to invade our shores this fall (in the awesomely illustrated and titled All You Can Eat Tour), the trio have gone and done music videos for every single one of their tracks on their most recent album, Gimme Some.
In 37 minutes and through 11 (mostly) excellent tracks the Swedish trio and directors Ted Malmros and Gustaf von Arbin bring a variety of well-done, artistically unique and visually stunning performances. There are confetti blasts, kaleidoscope and mirror camera tricks, sketch drawings, backwards paint/glitter explosions and much, much more.
If you have a little of a half-hour on your lunch break, this is a can’t miss trip through one of 2011′s most underrated albums.

Debuting over at Pitchfork, the Gimme Some film was shot in a warehouse over just two days in PB&J’s native Sweden. The hectic two days is evident in the Do It Yourself, low-budget style — the paint, glitter, fires, live band performances, etc. — but these styles add and compliment the danceable, playful, positive, light-hearted nature of the music that Peter Bjorn and John successfully execute on Gimme Some.
The band comes into Los Angeles for four straight shows at the beginning of October during the “All You Can Eat Tour.” PB&J will play the underground, iconic The Smell in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, Oct. 3, with dates at the Troubadour before and the Echo and El Rey Theatre after.
Safe to say there won’t be much paint tossed around at these shows, but I can’t say the same for glitter or fire. Check out a snippet from the film, lead single “Second Chance,” below, and look for tickets to the Swedes latest tour here.
