Being one of Jesse James’ first employees at West Coast Choppers and owning a legendary sport truck specialty shop should give us a little insight into mind of Jay LaRossa.
In 1998 Jay quit my day job and started to build trucks and hot rods full-time. For 10 years he built many magazine cover vehicles, SEMA vehicles, show trucks and customs here in the US and several that were shipped overseas. His builds have been featured in just about every truck and car magazine.
In 2002 Jay closed his shop and turned it into a mail order performance parts business. At that time he also went to work for a Jesse James, to build and work on his personal car collection.
Jay’s bikes are his interpretation, the café racers aren’t traditional style, but that seems to the magic. He makes them in the tradition of the original racers by striping off all the b.s. and making them fast.
If you’re into vintage bikes, café or otherwise, I urge you to look him up.
