As If! My Favorite 11 Music Video Picks Of The 90s

Ah yes, the 90s.
During another awesome Nothing But 90s weekend on KROQ, I can’t help but reminisce on the decade that shaped my young-adult life.
I can remember like it was yesterday, walking around in my baby doll dress, with my Walkman in my furry backpack, waiting for my mom to give me a ride to my local record store. Sure, some of the fashion trends were more than a tad cringe-worthy, although at the time I thought they were really cool. (Platform sneakers, overalls, you get the idea..) Looking back, ill admit that I was a HUGE nerd in semi-trendy clothing.
But among my ill-advised fashion decisions, there existed some really great tunes! I remember coming home from school and catching Total Request Live to see my favorite bands, and what music videos Carson Daly would show me that day.
So fellas, put on your baggiest pair of jeans. Ladies, find your fav paid mini skirt. And everyone for the love of god, please put down the pogs! It’s time to take a trip back to the 90s and discover MY favorite music videos of the decade!
“Don’t Speak” – No Doubt
I can remember when a kid in my class had me listen to Tragic Kingdom in his headphones. I had my mom take me to Wherehouse Music after school and buy the album. I went into my room, put in my boom box, and listened to it from beginning to end, over and over. I read the liner notes and looked at the pictures too. This is when I found one of my idols, Gwen Stefani. I thought to myself, “God I wanna be her. I want to be the female lead singer in an all male ska band. That is so cool!”
From the awesomeness of this song to the overall styling of the video (remember the flies & oranges?), everything about the band was perfectly captured in this video.
