29-year-old Kat Von D was made famous for being a super-hot/super-talented tattoo artist chick on Miami Ink, leading to her inking her own reality television deal (and opening up a famous tattoo shop called High Voltage) for her show L.A. Ink, now in its fourth season.

While Kat’s personality is notoriously sweet and a little mysterious, her relationship with West Coast Choppers CEO and reality television star, Jesse James, began in the spotlight and ended in the spotlight.

Hesitant to talk about it with just anybody, Kat felt comfortable opening up a little to her old friends, Kevin & Bean.

I can sit here and explain all that stuff, but it just turns into storytelling...And I don't really care.
While the second half of the fourth season of Kat Von D’s highly successful show, L.A. Ink, premieres tonight, much of the public’s energy has been focused on her newly separated relationship status with the highly controversial Jesse James.

It’s been such a highly tumultuous time that the girl who normally keeps her cool walked off set during a Good Day LA interview segment.

Kat told Kevin & Bean some of the details of what happened:

“Yes, I did walk out on them and I know that is considered unprofessional on  my behalf. I think it’s, I don’t know, I’m not perfect. I’m not going to sit here and make excuses…They pulled some inappropriate stuff that was behind the scenes stuff that I think a lot of people don’t know.”

“I can sit here and explain all that stuff, but it just turns into storytelling…And I don’t really care.”

What Kat does care about is maintaining her integrity has a talented tattoo artist and as an emotional, sensitive person.

Although Kat has been admonished for getting a Jesse James-themed tattoo, Kat says she has “no regrets,” especially since James was her “ninth long-term” partner.

When it came to filming the show, James is featured in some of the segments, although organically as per Kat’s request:

“You guys know me.I’m like an open book. And it’s not that I’m trying to put my information out there. I just don’t know any other way to be other than just myself…So, I made an agreement with the network that I was OK with having him on the show if it happened organically, but I wasn’t going to infuse it in it.”

“My show it about tattooing. And they were really cool about that. So, there are a few episodes with Jesse in it and I’m totally proud of this season.”

Speaking about tattooing, Kat told Kevin & Bean about the time she tattooed a relatively unknown pop star who rapidly became wildly popular post-tattoo–Lady Gaga:

“Yeah, I tattooed her a long time ago. It was cool…She had just moved out to L.A. I’ve told the story before. It’s really awesome. I’m like ‘Yeah, so, what do you do?’”

“And she’s like, ‘Ahh, man. I just moved out here to make it big.’ Oh, yeah. You and everyone else. Literally, a week later, I was driving down Hollywood Blvd. and I just saw her face everywhere. ‘Oh my god! She’s awesome! She did it!’…I gave her this rose on her hip. It was cool.”

I love Jesse...It's pretty new. I have a lot of love for him. I meant everything I said, so.
With celebrities and tattoo appreciators coming to High Voltage merely for the pure artistry of Kat’s work, Kat has a lot of positive things to focus on.

Kat refuses to let the negativity from the media (or on Twitter) change her super romantic perspective on life.

She candidly admits to having to step away from Twitter because of the negativity and, perhaps, because people are wont to psychoanalyze her life through things like tweeting Jesse James am ellipses last night.

“With recent stuff that happened, you know the negativity, I definitely had to step away from the Twitter for a minute because I’m pretty sensitive I think. Well, I know I am…I get surprised because there is a lot of positivity on there.”

“There are things about Twitter that I look forward to…People in general are always posting artwork and stuff and it just like makes so happy to be a apart of that and it makes it worth being called names.”

“I put dot dot dot…I don’t know how to spell a sigh…I know people do it with little asterisk things but that seems kind of Dungeons and Dragons or something. I just put dot dot dot, because, you know, he had posted this picture blog thing and I didn’t know that someone had re-tweeted it.”

“And I remember the pictures. It was all pictures that he had took, you know, I was away working and he was like, ‘Hey, all these things remind me of you.’ And it was like a set of my false eyelashes, one of my rosaries, and a piano key. I saw the pictures and I don’t know how to spell sigh, so I just put dot dot dot.”

This obviously signifies that a degree of tenderness and affection still remains between the two, which begs the questions from Kevin & Bean whether or not the split was just because of distance. Kat dispelled that rumor:

I'm already dating somebody.
“I mean, I don’t think  it’s that. I’m a very passionate person and I’m a hopeless romantic. There’s no amount of distance that could keep me from making something happen. “

“I don’t know…I think it’s within me. It’s part of my programming. I’m just a romantic person. So, no. I refuse to let the past traumatize me to where I can’t love, you know? I have too much love to not do that, you know?”

“I love Jesse…It’s pretty new. I have a lot of love for him. I meant everything I said, so.”

In the end, Kat has a good sense of humor about the whole situation and told Kevin & Bean that she isn’t “sweating” the situation, so neither should they.

“I’m already dating somebody. I’m just kidding. Totally kidding.”
