The band invited a few select journalists into their Santa Monica studio, where the Orange County legends are putting the finishing touches on their long-awaited follow-up to 2001′s Rock Steady.
“ Writing with other people is a learning experience, but when you come back, and you're sitting in a room together, it feels like home.

According to Rolling Stone, No Doubt started writing and prepping for the new album in 2008, but, due to lead singer Gwen Stefani’s pregnancy during that period, it left her in a song writing funk.
“I’m already creating something — I have nothing left,” Stefani said.
So the band hit the road in 2009, playing sold out summer shows across the country, and reconviened in producer Mark “Spike” Stent’s Santa Monica studio. The four-piece are now in their late 30s and early 40s, but it seems that No Doubt doesn’t want to miss a beat.
After the 2009 tour, the band felt it was natural coming back together in the studio. No Doubt has nine to 10 songs already in the bank, and are fine tuning a few more.
“It’s so exciting to have a record coming out,” Stefani told Rolling Stone. “And we all want the same thing: for it to be modern and catchy and addictive. Once you make music that connects with people, it’s like you taste blood — you can’t go back.”
Will No Doubt be back and better than ever? Are you excited for the return of Gwen and the gang?
