Whilst Taking Back Sunday prepare for the imminent release of their new self-titled album, it doesn’t look like it will be too long before the band get back into the studio.

Singer Adam Lazzara recently spoke to Billboard and said that the re-united New Yorkers are “…Constantly writing with one another”. Last.fm Trends looks at the long history of Taking Back Sunday and what the new album could bring to the table.

The lineup for the new Taking Back Sunday album, released June 28th, harks back to the original lineup seen on the band’s debut 2002 album Tell All Your Friends.

With 9,638,879 scrobbles the album is still the favorite amongst Last.fm listeners, with the three subsequent albums all failing to reach the standards set by the classic debut.

Despite this, fans have stuck with the band throughout. 2006′s Louder Now has been scrobbled 9,527,131 times and features the band’s most popular track to date – “Make Damn Sure”, which has been scrobbled 1,484,044 and was listened to by 2,654 listeners last week.

It will be interesting to see if the return of the original lineup can produce an album that can boast a scrobble count that Tell All Your Friends can – something Last.fm Trends will be sure to keep an eye on.
