lp Todays KROQ Flashback: Linkin Park Papercut

WTF. No. Seriously. W T F ! ? ! Generally a song needs to be at least ten years old before I consider it to be a possible flashback and with das Roasting of Weenies tomorrow (finally!!!) I thought it’d be great to play one of the Weenie Roasting bands for you that I haven’t already thrown a selection from on.

I figured I was S-O-L since I had already hit most of them when a tiny voice in my cranium suddenly reminded me that Linkin Park‘s first album was probably already a decade in the past. NAAAAAH, I said – is that right?!? DAMN–O-MATIC, it came out in 2000! It’s bleeding eleven years old!!! That shit ain’t right!!! How is that possible?

Well, so it is, and while KROQ often spun today’s song ‘Papercut’ back several years ago it has kind of slipped through the cracks, thus becoming a straight up proper flashback (and a damn good one, methinks). Enjoy – and relish our weenie tomorrow!

For Reals!!!!! Right on Sluggster!!! These are my fondest moments of the end of my career as a “grade” school kid. Senior year was my first actual lone experienced live concert…Linkin Park at the Best Buy in Westminster for a FREE KROQ promotion of the kroq calender. SO SWEET! I had to have my brother drop me off cause I had no other way of getting from fullerton to that crazy mall and its parking lots. Got dropped off and waited patiently from when only a handful of people were spot saving to hours later when an entire sold out crowd rolled in with mosh pit formed and ready. I was right center stage with the speakers blasting right in my face. Mr. Hahn’s beats shook me where I stood. That entire show was basically the entire album showcased. So cool…from then on out I knew I was forever going to be a fan of LP… Even after all the changes and dissapointments I still have my 08′ Staples Center tour Tee hanging proudly in my closet. These guys can really pull off a live gig. Can’t wait for tomorrow night when they light up Irvine Meadows– I mean, Verizon Wireless amphitheter. I’ll smoke a bowl in your honor Sluggo! Beers. Oh! And the moment I heard them play this song live annd then played it in my cd walkmen I was connected. It really is a great track and an even better Flashback. I know…11 years is kinda long, huh… IImII
