2012 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival To Be Held Two Consecutive Weekends!

COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL TO BE HELD FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKENDS
APRIL 13-15 AND APRIL 20-22.
The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will be held over two weekends (April 13-15 AND April 20-22) at the beautiful Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.
Coachella 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends. Festival organizers will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends. That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people.
Passes go on sale beginning this Friday, June 3rd, 2011, at 10am until the following Friday June 10th, 2011, at 10pm. This advance sale will be the only opportunity to take advantage of the Coachella Payment Plan. Passes will be available through a payment plan of 10% down and 8 equal monthly payments OR by payment in full. The price of three-day passes remains at $269 plus fees for the sixth consecutive year.
According to Coachella.com:
“We know many of you were unable to attend this year’s festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated. We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm. We also know some of you purchased through non legitimate sources and were inconvenienced, gouged or totally scammed. We hope that these changes will give everyone the opportunity to purchase directly from Coachella.com.”

How is it half the fun? They are splitting the bands up, it’s the same show two weeks in a row…think of it as a huge tour with two stops at Coachella.

This is so lame… they are selling tickets way to early. No Lineup, no time to manage which friends can go when… no band is going to commit to two weekends while on tour. booochella.

It’s a gamble, but with all the new album releases this year, I would get tickets in hopes that Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, and the Foo Fighters will be in the line up.

It’s kind of cool that their splitting the festival into 2 identical weekends, BUT I agree with the previous comment about are really good bands going to commit to two weekends. also what the hell about tickets going on sale in june. I mean seriously there’s no line-up and their not even selling the tickets at a discounted price (for no line-up)

Anyone think $269 is way too much? I mean with that price food and water should be included. And I’m not a fan of seeing a bunch of bands I don’t know. If there is a band on one day I Like why do I have to sit through a million unknown bands with a bunch of smelly hippies?!
