Happy National Geek Pride Day! What Type Of Geek Are You?

Hi, I'm Sadie, and I'm a geek.
I believe everyone is geeky in their own way, may it be the movies they love, the clothes they wear or whether they do a cute snort when they laugh. So if you love video games, are fascinated by anything computer related or wear glasses with tape holding them together well today is your day to shine!
Today, May 25, is National Geek Pride Day and it is used to promote geek culture not just in the United States, but throughout the world.
This date was chosen to commemorate the release of the first Star Wars film, A New Hope on May 25, 1988.

The origin this day originated with Tim McEachern who organized unconnected events named Geek Pride Festival and/or Geek Pride Day 1998 to 2000 at a bar in Albany, New York, which are sometimes seen as a prelude to Geek Pride Day. Then in 2006, Spain and the Internet community celebrated the day, which drew attention from mainstream media.
In 2008, Geek Pride Day was officially celebrated in America, where it was heralded by numerous bloggers.
By 2009, the Science Channel recognized the nerdy day and celebrated with special programming.

Ummm… Star Wars (which wasn’t called Chapter IV: A New Hope until 3 years after its release) came out on May 25, 1978, not 1988. Just my inner fact-checking geek merging with my Star Wars geek. =)

1977, not 1978. Clearly I’m a geek with fat fingers who doesn’t proofread.
