As they say, once you go black you never go back. So, I went way dark on this sucker.

Although hard to tell from this early evening photo, the wheels are two-tone black. Shawn and Tu at Savini went nuts on these. The face is satin black while the inner sections (windows) are gloss. Somewhat subtle, these SM-7′s are damn sexy!

The wheels are not only attractive, they’re super strong because they’re milled from a single piece of billet aluminum. These wheels don’t suffer from speed wobbles like many 3-piece wheels do. They’re milled to the tiniest fraction of an inch. I ended up going with 9″ fronts and 10.5″ in the rear.

Savini Wheels wrapped in Continental Tires

Now, if you’re going to step up to superior wheels, the tires have to match and frankly, there’s no where else to turn than Continental. No, they’re not the least expensive tires on the market but they are the best. Just like many automotive parts, you get what you pay for and these babies are worth the few extra pennies. I went with 265x30x22 on the front and 285x30x22 on the rear to beef up the ass end and give it the staggered look.

After the wheels were bolted up it was off to the tint shop to go one shade darker. Although illegal, I went to medium tint on the sides and dark on the rear window. Since this was being applied over the factory tinted glass, it ended up being pretty dark, which keeps the hot sun off my little kids on the way out to the desert.

All in all, the build came out really nice. Check out the car before I started then look above at it now. Quite a difference, huh.

I wanna give a monstrous thanks to all those that helped with the project.

Now I’m off to the next one. A vintage custom Harley. Insert sinister laughter here.

Oh yeah, don’t forget to check out Psycho Mike’s late model Caddy install!
