Proms Can Be A Disaster! Was Yours?
Even FOX's Glee had a prom that didn't go as planned
Prom is supposed to be a wonderful night that you will remember for the rest of your life. It’s something that is looked forward to for years, but when your high school prom finally comes, it doesn’t always go as planned.
A story came up on Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night in which a high school student wanted to ask a girl to prom in a creative way, so he taped giant letters to the school building, asking her out. The girl said yes, but the school said no, and he was suspended from the prom.
At least most people have the option to go to prom, but then everything goes to crap later. The Kevin & Bean show wanted to hear all of your horror stories, and you guys did not disappoint!

Here’s how some of your proms were disasters:
- Caitlin told us about some of the guys in their group that got caught sneaking in weed and flasks. Not only did they get caught, but Caitlin’s dad is also a cop.
- Kevin thought he could get lucky on prom night, so he did the responsible thing and stashed a condom in his jacket pocket. His date found the condom and shut him down! Shouldn’t he get points for planning ahead?
Our own Ralph Garman shared that he was the one to cause problems at his prom by sneaking away and having sex in an elevator with someone other than his date. Classy, Ralph. Classy.
- At Laura’s prom, she was thrown up on… BY FOUR DIFFERENT PEOPLE! Ok now, ONE would be rough, but FOUR??? Lightweights! That’s a pre-game failure! The whole prom was shut down not long after.
- Heather borrowed her dad’s Maserati while her parents were out of town and the car got hit in the parking lot. She got it fixed before her parents got back in town, but her dad got a call to make sure he was happy with the repairs. Busted!
- Lisa had a Ralph Garman type story. Her date had sex with her best friend at prom… and she’s STILL best friends with the girl! How do you recover from that?
- Elizabeth had the freakin’ cops called on her in the weeks leading up to prom! She went to an all girls school and everyone knows that girls can be shady bitches! I can say that. I’m a girl. Anyway, a call had been made to the police saying that Elizabeth planned to bring a gun to prom and shoot the place up. Who does that?!?!

My prom was AWFUL…I had already bought my ticket and dress and was fine with not having a date…but then days before prom my “friends” said there was no room for me in the limo! WTF??! The only reason I got to go was because one of the other guys going had his date flake on him. So I was a fill in date for some guy I had never met. Once we got there, we sat at the dinner table, ate, and my “friends” just got up from the table and left me. I cried, then finally got up, said hi to a few ppl, and then since some of the ppl I came with decided to stay for other parties, etc that I wasn’t invited to, I called the limo driver and had him drop me off at home. I think I was in bed before 11. SUCKED!!!

My senior year I had a boyfriend that went to another school so for my prom I was the one that had to buy the tickets. As if that weren’t enough $ I had to rent his tux or he wouldn’t wear one. Then his license had been taken away so I had to drive. When I picked him up to go eat dinner with my friends, he said he had already eaten dinner. When we got to the prom he didn’t want to dance (no biggy most guys don’t) but he wanted to be babysat so he only let me dance 3 songs and I had to just sit with him the rest of the time. Finally we left and I was home in bed by 10pm. My prom SUCKED!

I was smart and ditched prom. I instead won tickets from a radio station in San Jose called KOME (the place Carson worked before KROQ for those keeping score at home). Instead of prom, I enjoyed The Offspring (with support from L7 and AFI) at the San Jose State Event Center. One of the best choices I made in high school.
