New Music From A Day To Remember, Redlight King & The Strokes Join The KROQ Playlist
Two Weenie Roast 2011 artists have new music added to the KROQ playlist this week: A Day To Remember‘s “All Signs Point To Lauderdale” and The Strokes‘ “Taken For A Fool.” Another new song being added is Redlight King‘s “Old Man,” which samples Neil Young. Remember when we asked you about this song in the beginning of March? The crowd has spoken, and it’s now been added to the playlist.
The Foo Fighters‘ “Rope” reclaims the top spot, while Face To Face‘s new song “It’s Not All About You” jumped up a few spots to #7. Cage The Elephant‘s “Shake Me Down” also climbed a couple positions to #13, while Thirty Seconds To Mars and The Dirty Heads both dropped down multiple spots.

All these new songs are great….but at the same time, #’s 3, 4, 5,11,12,15 and 18 are all as old as dirt. If I turned this playlist upside down and 27 was 1, 26 was 2, etc., etc., you’d have an awesome, current playlist.

They played New Low for months and support plenty of new bands…..sometimes ad naseum! Every band in their Top 20 is fairly new except for the only 2 that actually have been around for 20 years, Social D (classic alternative artists) and Beastie Boys (never an alternative artist). Get the ridiculous songs from the Beastie Boys off of KROQ and they’re actually starting to play better stuff!

I like all these songs if your a true alternate, or alternate rock fan then it really doesnt matter what songs they play!!
