There are four new movies in wide release today – Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, Prom, Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil, and Fast Five. Let’s take a look at all of them.
Dylan Dog: Dead of Night:
Brandon Routh stars as the titular Dylan Dog, a private investigator whose clients are basically the undead. They’re zombies, vampires, werewolves – that sort of thing. (He stars alongside Sam Huntington and Taye Diggs.)
He works and lives in New Orleans and, as you can imagine, Dylan is there to keeps those creatures away from the general population. He allows the general population to believe they’re just stories and fairy tales, but he knows better. In this movie he’s got to prevent a war from breaking out amongst his werewolf, vampire, and zombie clients.
It’s a Disney film about prom. Thomas McDonald stars and also Nicholas Braun (who’s in Red State). It’s a group of high school students getting ready for their prom – and there’s heartbreak and there’s new love, and there’s things like that.
And there’s Jesse, the way cool outside bad-boy guy, “I don’t need no damn prom,” but he happens to fall in love with a beautiful young girl who’s having a hard time finding someone to go to the prom with. His heart of stone begins to melt.
Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil:
You remember the popular film Hoodwinked about Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf? Well, “Hood” is back, and this time she’s investigating the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. I’d look in the witch’s gingerbread house if I was her, but that’s just me.That’s where I’d go looking for clues.
How can Dave the King of Mexico be looking forward to this? You’ve seen this movie four times already! It’s just them in cars, going fast, and they’re really really furious while they’re driving. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson star.
In this one, the Rock is a federal agent who is dispatched to Rio to try to hunt down a former cop, played by Paul Walker, and Dom Toretto, played Vin Diesel, as they’re assembling a final race in their plan to gain freedom from the man.
