[KROQ Coachella 2011] Aquabats Invade Coachella Valley To Save The World

You might think The Aquabats came to the KROQ Coachella house to talk about music, but you’re wrong.  The Aquabats invaded the KROQ Coachella house to help save the world.

No, really.

Stryker talked baseball with the Aquabats getting ready for the interview.  Who knew superheros loved baseball?

About half of the Aquabats joined us at the KROQ Coachella house, which is more than enough Aquabats to get awesome things done.

Jimmy The Robot and Crash and Stryker go way back because they all tried out for a baseball team together.  Crash apparently wore a mask while trying out, obviously keeping up his super hero status.

“ Biz Marquis actually recorded it (our song) in the bathroom of a hotel.
” On their new album they worked with Biz Markie who actually recorded his parts in a pretty peculiar place.  Jimmy The Robot explained that Biz was busy and couldn’t make it to the recording studio, but obviously that didn’t stop them from working together saying:

Biz Marquis actually recorded it in the bathroom of a hotel.

Stryker pointed out that the horns are missing from the songs now.  Even though the group misses the sound, they have replaced it with the keyboards.

Things might have changed for the Aquabats over the years, but not their fan base.  They commented that although time has hit their superhero bodies it’s been incapable of effecting their fans, according to Crash:

It’s crazy cause they keep coming, but they stay the same age. 

Its their first time playing Coachella, but it’s also the first time they brought their instruments with them, so in terms of supermen doing super things.  This is sort of awesome.

They’re also about to start their Aquabats TV show.  It’s about them getting jacked up, which they explained to us means enduring super awesome stuff to show their super awesome powers, and you better be tuning in.  Not just to their TV show, but to their Coachella set if you’re in the Indio Valley.
