[Exclusive Performance] Jacks Mannequin Performs At The KROQ Coachella House; Talk People & Things With Stryker[Photo Gallery] Jack’s Mannequin…

Local’s Only band and Orange County natives, Jack’s Mannequin wowed the audience at the KROQ Coachella House with their live performance. They followed the two-song set with an interview where they talked about their new album People & Things and Andrew’s life after Leukemia.

Stryker first met Andrew in 2001 when he was the frontman for Something Corporate and that’s when he took notice of Andrew’s keen ability to pen a song.

Still, however much Andrew loves songwriting, he’s not ready to give up being in a band just quite yet explaining that he plans to keep writing songs, but being on stage is his first love:

I would be bummed not to perform regularly.

Bob and Andrew joined forced towards the dissolution of Something Corporate, while Bob was still in River City High and they knew each other and liked working together.

Jack’s Mannequin actually started as a side project to help Andrew clear his head from the material he was working on for Something Corporate he explains:

It was one of those moments, sometimes you have a job and you’re ready to move on.  We were working for five years non-stop.  This was something to clear my head.

Andrew was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005 to the day that the first Jack’s Mannequin was released. However,  he made it through that year and he’ll celebrate six years of remission this June.

The third Jack’s Mannequin’s record, People & Things will be released at the end of summer, giving Andrew another reason to celebrate.
