[Exclusive Interview] Kat Von D On Japan Relief Fundraiser, Marrying Jesse James & More

Lately, when not playing Words With Friends and losing to everyone (including Dave the King of Mexico), Kat Von D has been planning a tattoo event to help aid Japan relief efforts, in addition to her wedding to Jesse James.

Kat, along with many other tattoo artists, will be volunteering their time this Thursday (April 14th) and giving 100% of the proceeds to Save the Children Japan, an organization that helps the children and their families following the devastating earthquake and tsunami.

It’s a great way donate to a worthy cause, while also taking home a piece of art that is a constant reminder of the devastation and the charitable camaraderie that followed.

Each of the designs is unisex, and about 3″ x 3″ in size. Tattoos are done on a first come, first served basis.

Of course Kevin & Bean couldn’t pass up the opportunity to chat with Kat about her upcoming marriage to Jesse James. This makes Kat a prime target for the paparazzi, who have been known to wait for her behind her tattoo shop.

For the first in a long time, Kat feels like she can speak freely about her feelings, and even recently tweeted about not being judged… until the next season of LA Ink airs anyway.

Kat and Jesse plan to get married in a few months, around their one year anniversary and Bean, in particular, was bummed that Jesse didn’t join them in the studio as well. He does have a book being released in the near future, so hopefully we’ll be seeing him soon as well.
