Few artists have shown more enthusiasm for this year’s Record Store Day (April 16) than Jack White. His newest effort will bring Rock and Roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis to the stage in a one-time performance at White’s Nashville-based Third Man Records.

“The Killer” will be backed by an all-star band featuring Steve Cropper (guitarist of Booker T & The MGs), Jim Keltner (drummer for Bob Dylan, Neil Young), and Jack Lawrence (bassist of The Raconteurs & The Dead Weather).

The entire performance will be recorded direct to analog tape and released on the Third Man label. Tickets are on sale now at $30 each (plane ticket not included) and every attendee will receive an exclusive release of the performance on black and blue vinyl. How sweet is that?

One of Rock’s original bad-boys, Lewis recorded his first hits at Sun Studios. He topped pop, country and R&B charts with songs like “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotts Shakin’ Goin’ On.” Known for his wild escapades and numerous marriages, and reveared for his ability to make the piano scream during wildly energetic live performances, Lewis was the first performer to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

White has already announced plans for a Record Store Day reissue the first two singles from his former band The White Stripes on Third Man Records. The singles “Let’s Shake Hands” and “Lafayette Blues” were originally released in 1998. White also has several other releases lined up for April 16th.
