Dubbing himself as “The Lowness” in Your Highness, Danny McBride stopped by the Kevin & Bean show to talk about everything that’s going on in his life right now. He’s got a new movie in the theaters, a baby on the way, and an appearance in an awesome short film by the Beastie Boys.

Another project of Danny’s, Eastbound & Down, is a show that I hear tons of people talking about here at KROQ! I mean, you can’t beat the Kenny Powers hairstyles, right? We made sure to ask him about that as well.

Danny McBride is one of those guys that is just consistently funny! He has a tendency to play some over the top and ridiculous characters, and he does it so well.
His new movie, Your Highness, is in theaters today, and is a movie that he co-wrote with Ben Best, who’s one of the creators of Eastbound & Down. The director is an old college friend of his, David Green, who directed Pineapple Express, so t his was pretty much a group of all buddies all getting together to make a movie.

C'mon, how is Beer Mug NOT related to Danny McBride???

After Pineapple Express, Danny said that he’d wanted to work with James Franco, but was totally surprised that Natalie Portman was interested than the movie. Upon meeting her and getting to know her personality and sense of humor, she was a perfect fit!
If you didn’t hear the full interview, make sure you listen to hear a new “Bean, the Interview Killer” moment. Kevin will be disappointed he missed this one.
Danny said that he’s currently in the process of writing the third season of Eastbound & Down, and that it’ll probably conclude the series there. They’d always planned on it being a short character arch in a three-act structure, but at the end of the day, who knows?
The Kenny Powers hair will be back, and Danny stated that it’s wife that has to actually look at his hair all the time, so she’s the one we should feel sorry for. They’re currently expecting a baby, so not only does she have to deal with a pregnancy, but she has to deal with his hair too!
