A Kevin & Bean favorite and forever Jackass, Steve-O, came by the KROQ studio this morning, prior to taking the stage tomorrow night at the Gibson Amphitheater for Kevin & Bean’s April Foolishness. Steve-O has always been that one guy that will do whatever he’s dared to do, and whatever stunt that all others turn down. Jackass 3D was a huge box office success last year, and Jackass 3.5 is out today. At this point, with a few years of sobriety under his belt, his life is pushing forward for the better… or is it?

Right out of the gate he brought up a “hiccup” that he ran into recently – an arrest in Canada.

So what’s with this recent arrest? Steve-O was traveling to Canada for some standup gigs, made it into the country alright, and then, upon leaving the country to enter back into the States, he was taken into a room, questioned, and thrown into jail. This all came about because of an appearance on a TV show that he was guest hosting in order to promote his comedy gigs. He was asked whether he’d ever been to Calgary before. He went on to tell a story about a time in 2003 when he was “kinda responsible for beating a guy up.”

The incident in question happened when Steve-O was on stage performing when a random dude rushed the stage and started punching him in the head. There was pretty quick retaliation on the guy. Steve-O and the boys fled the venue and thought nothing of it. Cut to last weekend - an arrest in the airport on an outstanding warrant, a release on $10,000 bail (which he put on a credit card), and a May court date that he thinks can be settled via representation.

Regarding the issue, Steve-O stated, “It’s really crazy to be clean an sober, getting arrested and sitting in a jail cell. You know, the way I look at it [...] it’s an opportunity for me to clear away the wreckage of the past. I had this to resolve and so I’m taking care of it. That’s what we do. We grow up and take care of our things.”

For those, like myself, who can’t get enough of all-things-Jackass, today marks the release of Jackass 3.5! There’s a ton more footage that didn’t make the theatrical cut of Jackass 3D. Unlike its previous counterpart, this installment can be found on Joost.com. Also keep an eye out for Steve-O this summer when he comes back to Southern California for a few standup dates at the Brea Improv. Tickets can be found here.

Hopefully you’ll be joining us at the 3rd annual Kevin & Bean’s April Foolishness this weekend, (some production tickets are still available here) but if not, stay tuned to KROQ.com for all the updates on the event.

I swear you guy’s are missing the key factor of how unfair this is, not only do they not know him their sitting and judging him based off of a Tv show that’s always fake and always a representation of the metaphorical jack ass in society and especially in the suburbs

Steve O’ wouldn’t have been jailed if he was a hollywood actor or a rock star, instead they consider it a learning lesson for him because of what they think he does on his free time. It’s almost annoying for me to see this after a similar thing was done to me because of the neighborhood I live in and the color of my skin[stereotypes based on race are the same as a stereotype based on content viewed or seen, especially a reality show]…

PLEASE let me know when they actually get to know Steve O’ and when they get the opportunity to reaccess what they’d do after. I can already tell from how much he’s changed since the original jackass you can tell form his face when he did stunts for WILD boy’s the joke was long over and he didn’t enjoy half of the punishment and pain that MTV wanted videotaped to keep the show going….

The worst part was that the show was great at exploring places that steve irwin wouldn’t even go, and showing thing’s that most explorers wouldn’t dare go and see.

I hope I get to meet him one day and really see how much of a learning lesson the sentence was, and to see if it humbled him and allowed religion to cure any anger over the past event’s current effect’s on his life.
