Movie Beat 3/25/11 – Peep World, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, And Sucker Punch

In this week’s Movie Beat, I review Peep World, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, And Sucker Punch.
**
Peep World:
This in limited release and you might need to look for it, but it might be worth it if you’re a fan of Michael C. Hall, Sarah Silverman, or Rainn Wilson – a very talented cast. they all star as a family that’s getting together for their father’s 70th birthday.
Here’s the thing – one of the siblings is an author who’s written a best-selling book that exposes the family’s most intimate secrets. It’s positioned as fiction, but in reality, it’s based on their family, and some people have an axe to grind about that fact.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules:
This is the sequel to a popular children’s book series. I take umbrage with that title because no one named “Rodrick” has ever ruled anything. If you have kids, you’ll probably go see this, this weekend.
Ralph’s Pick of the Week:
Sucker Punch:
Directed by Zack Snyder – Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens – what a cast! It’s a bunch of hot chicks, running around, just kicking ass and shooting things, and chopping up things with swords.
What more do you need? It’s like a video game come to life. [Zack Snyder] visually, is probably one of the most interesting guys working in film today. It looks like a great film.
