Kevin & Bean’s 3rd Annual April Foolishness is happening a week from Saturday night and once again it is THE comedy night of the year.
Nowhere else will you find a lineup like Jim Jeffries, Bill Burr, The Axis Of Awesome, Doug Benson, Steve-O, Ray Romano, and Patton Oswalt all on one stage on one night. TV’s Jimmy Kimmel and the best band in Late Night, Cleto & The Cletones will also be appearing.
Proceeds this year go to two great charities, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz Children’s Center NICU
Unfortunately, our friend Jay Mohr had to withdraw from appearing at this year’s concert. He called in to our show to explain why.
Jay: I can’t go tot April Foolishness because I’m playing Charlie Sheen on Law & Order Criminal Intent. They got the old cast back together, Vincent D’onofrio and everybody, and I’m sick about, siiiick about missing April Foolishness.
Kevin: Did they call you and say we’re only gonna film on April second at night?
Jay: No, it’s in the exact middle of the shoot.
Kevin: So you can’t do April Foolishness?
Jay: No, and it makes me sick.

Bean: Are you canceling your Brea Improv dates too that weekend?
Jay: No, Brea’s gotta go to. I’m gonna be in New York City doing coke and stuff.
Kevin: Alright!
Bean: How long does it take to film an episode of Law & Order?
Jay: Eight days… and it starts March 28th.
Bean: So, you’re going to be in New York for eight days and you’re canceling your dates during that time. That’s what you’re trying to tell us.

Jay: It sucks for me cause it’s [April Foolishness] one of my most favorite things in the world.
Kevin: Can we put you down in pen for next year?
Jay: You can put me down. I’ll do two sets!

It sucks, but if you really want to see an amazing set from Jay Mohr, show up on a Thursday night at some small comedy club. The guy is total magic. I’ve seen him twice, and his style is really great with an intimate crowd.

For his two sets next year, perhaps he could do one as he normally might and the second one could be “Tracy Morgan”
…this is assuming of course that there will be a next year, AND that giant humorless aliens don’t enslave us and ban comedy.
