Thom Yorke has proven himself to be a renaissance man when it comes to the music business. The leading man behind Radiohead recently released the surprise album King of Limbs with the band. Solo-wise, he collaborated on new electronic material with Burial and Four Tet, which you can hear here, and also performed an unannouced DJ set at Low End Theory in L.A. earlier this month. On top of this, we’ve also found out he can dance and… rap?
Reports have surfaced that Thom Yorke has started working on a rap album with the English-born MF DOOM. Apparently he’s become a master at unpredictability.
DOOM, who’s known for being very mysterious, recently told 3D World in an interview that he’s been “doing some stuff with Thom Yorke… we’re working on some duets, some duet songs and shit. Just like preliminary shit but we’ll probably end up doing a whole record together.” He described Thom then, saying, “He’s cool – he got a lot of ill ass ideas and shit, you know.” Well that’s one way to put it.
The two have actually worked together before, when Thom remixed DOOM’s song, “Gazzillion Ear” as a bonus track for the rapper’s album Born Like This, in 2009.
Since the project is just in its early stages, the album has no release date yet, but the news has definitely piqued our interest and we’ll keep you posted.
