“So their (The Strokes) show started at 8:00 pm, which gave me exactly 22 minutes to run 13 blocks, get into the venue, get in the pit and shoot the first 3 songs. So I sprint the whole way just to arrive at a venue that is over-capacity and practically rioting. After telling the door guy that I was already inside and just had to get a new battery, I sprinted to the stage, only to find 10,000 other photographers from every publication on earth.”
“I could have easily given up here, they had already finished one song and no one was leaving the pit. I sit back and wait for my chance and as the crowed rushes the stage I throw myself into the photo pit, landing dead center for 2 songs which was how I was able to get these photos. I have been shooting shows since 2002 and that was by far the craziest and also the coolest set I have ever captured. All in the name of music.”
