Sublime With Rome has been hard at work at the Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, Texas with producer Paul Leary, who previously produced many of Sublime’s albums and the Long Beach Dub AllstarsWonders of the World.

Earlier today, it was announced that the band had signed to record label Fueled By Ramen, which boasts acts such as Paramore and Gym Class Heroes. In a press release released by the label, Rome and Troy Nowell-Holmes (widow of Bradley Nowell) both speak on the band and the recent decisions.

For those who feel that Bradley Nowell and his family would not accept the reformation of Sublime, Nowell’s widow Troy-Nowell-Holmes released the following statement:

Sublime with Rome earned the fans' approval with their live performances by showing it was never about replacing or forgetting Brad - it was about celebrating the music.
“Sublime with Rome earned the fans’ approval with their live performances by showing it was never about replacing or forgetting Brad – it was about celebrating the music.  And now the next chapter begins.  Rome is such a great songwriter and with Bud and Eric’s amazing talent to back him up, Sublime with Rome will thrive and shine in its own right.  I can’t wait to hear the new material because I know how talented they all are.”

Rome also commented on their current status:

“Everything’s been going amazing in the studio. The music has been coming along great, and we’re confident that we’re making a record that will stand the test of time,” Rome said in the official press release. “We can’t wait for the fans to hear it, and are already planning a world tour to bring it to them live.”

The band is planning to release their first single later this spring, with a full-length album expected by the end of summer. Details of a major tour are expected to be announced soon too.
