Jack White will not be joining any new bands, but he has a new project that will debut at SXSW — a record store on wheels.
Jack White who recently broke up his most famous band, The White Stripes, has unveiled a van for his record label Third Man Records and is calling it the Third Man Rolling Record Store.
The truck, which is painted bright yellow, will be equipped with a microphone and turntables for guest DJs to spin on. It is also equipped with a sound system in which bands can come and plug in and rock out. Besides all of that the van will be exclusively selling products of Third Man Records including exclusive vinyl releases and other merchandise.
White explains that “97% of high school aged kids have never been to a standalone record store.” If you’re one of the unlucky people who’ve never been, the clip concludes with a promise: “We’ll find you.”
