Last night, I had the pleasure of attending another special listening party and art show for Travis Barker‘s upcoming album Give The Drummer Some, but this time it featured something extra special – an intimate performance with his side project The Transplants, which features Rancid‘s Tim Armstrong and Skinhead Rob.

Right before The Transplants began performing, singer Skinhead Rob stated, “So we’re the Transplants, and it’s been a long time since we’ve been on stage together, except for a little Conan O’Brien appearance the other night.” A long time happens to be about six years, so if you happened to be in the room last night, you immediately felt privileged about what was coming up next. Fueled by the free Kettle One Vodka drinks, I smashed my way to the front of the stage and snagged some photos of the band.

The only bummer was that they only performed two songs, their new single “Saturday Night,” followed by their classic “Tall Cans In The Air.” The energy was awesome and the crowd, including myself, were all left wanting more. Several of the artists who worked on the artwork for Give The Drummer Some were in attendance, and a few other notable people like Kid Cudi and Chanel from MTV’s Fantasy Factory were also among the crowd.
