 [Videos] National Anthem Fails

It seems weird that the National Anthem is only, for the most part, sung before sporting events. You’ve got, in the case of this year’s Super Bowl, 111 million people who are there to watch a game. The players are nervous, the fans are geeked out of their minds, and it’s right at that moment everyone is told to be silent and focus on the poor sucker who “gets” to perform one of the most difficult songs in the world.

Some people tap into that crazy energy, masterfully calm the volcano that’s dying to erupt for about a minute and half, and then hit the song climax and set the fans free. I’ve been told sex is supposed to be like that, but I can never get past “Oh say can you…” “Already?”

Other people are like Christina Aguilera, or as Ralph calls her, “Vanilla Snooki.” They fail. Those are my peeps.

I’m sure by now you’ve seen the Christina Aguilera version.

Check out this guy playing the trumpet. If you’re impatient, go to about 35 seconds in.

Kevin’s recap was hilarious, but it was even funnier to actually see the players trying so hard not to bust up. Hilarious K&B! You guys always manage to find the funniest stuff!

Enrique is an idiot. The video was shot at Palomar College, and the team shown closest to the camera is Irvine Valley College. Fullerton doesn’t have men’s volleyball.
