Deftones Fans Riot After Bangkok Gig Gets Cancelled

A group of Deftones fans rioted last night, February 15 in Bangkok after the band was forced to cancel the show at the last-minute. They were to perform at the city’s 25,000-capacity Thunderdome Arena, but were unable to do so for some ”electrical problems.”
First, the show was supposed to start at 8pm, but was then delayed until 9:30pm. Organizers then announced that the show was officially being called off. Following the announcement, most fans went home but a few hundred others were less than happy, to say the least. Some threw bottles, broke windows and set fire to tents and beer booths outside the venue.
A statement from the band on their Facebook page said, “Due to local power issues that threatened the safety of the band and their fans, Deftones were forced to cancel their show last night… Deftones would like to apologize to those that were inconvenienced and hope to turn to Thailand in the near future. Refund info to follow soon.”
From Facebook user comments it sounds like fans are still pissed, for example a fan wrote: “Do you call yourself ‘professional rockers’? smashing pumpkin, parl jam, take that and ect have played in Thailand and that time lower standard, lower tech, but they still played with their “FAN” And just not show to apologize FANs by yourself is so sceptical. then be armature pop singers instead, guys.”
Sure, sh*t happens, I would be upset too, but calling them pop singers is a low blow. What do you think?

i dont see what power issues they had hey i wasent thier but i do understand how the fans would be angry since it takes deftones more time to get out there during touring but violence is not a solution either . deftones are an amazing live band i love them hopefully they do another show
