Monster Jam is coming to Dodger Stadium for the first time ever, this Saturday! Tickets are still available.

While the crews at Dodger Stadium are busy moving hundreds of tons of dirt in preparation for this Saturday night’s mayhem, the trucks are sitting down at Angel Stadium collecting dust. So, my friend Sue at Feld Motorsports had the bright idea to let me drive one.  Why? She’s clearly lost her marbles. From what I’m told, non-professional drivers are almost never permitted to get behind the wheel. I’d imagine it’s a huge liability issue.

When I got the OK, don’t think I didn’t drop everything and jam down to Anaheim to snag this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m like, “Cody, watch over KROQ.com, I’m heading to OC. Be back in a few hours. If I die, the website’s yours.”

I have be honest, driving the Iron Man truck may make me a whole lot cooler to my two little boys.trans [Video] Who Drove the Iron Man Monster Truck? I Did. Not only is it a monster truck, it’s the Iron Man monster truck!

I’m not sure if you could tell from the video, but they shut me down by remote control. I was getting too fast. Yeah! And, since I know you’re going to ask why I didn’t go over any jumps, I was told that they just painted the hills and cars and didn’t want any scuffs till Saturday night. I think they were just worried that I’d crash.

A huge thanks to Scott and Team Iron Man for letting me drive around their quarter million dollar truck.

If you live in the LA area and you have a family that needs to get out of the house, Monster Jam is a really fun time.  The whole family can scream together. And, how often do you get the chance to see Dodger Stadium transformed into a massive dirt track?

Lightening, don’t let those idiots Kevin, Bean or Ralph bash the automotive hobby. From time to time, I hear them giving you a hard time about your lifted truck or your passion for motorsports. I know you’ve probably learned to ignore it, but it still pisses me off that those goons couldn’t even find the dip stick to their motors. Yes, they have other talents and interests, but I think there’s a lot to be said about enjoying the motorsports hobby. I live in South Orange County where not too many recognize the hobby (classic cars) and it’s strange for me, considering I grew up in Downey/Norwalk area. So needless to say that when I sold my lifted crew cab with 38 inch tires, the neighbors were probably relieved. However, I give them a little ear full of the classic car hobby every saturday morning when I fire up my 1956 BelAir with a 383 stroker engine. I don’t do this on purpose, but I don’t feel too bad anymore. Mainly because they constantly poke fun at the fact that I’m not a typical condo dweller like them, but yet have a strong passion for anything on wheels.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is “I support you 100 percent”. I wish there were more of us.

If you ever have a desire to make it down to O.C. we have three of the coolest early morning car meets around. You may have heard of “Cars and Coffee, Donut Derelicts, and one cool little kept secret, Monarch Bay.”

Let me know, I run a graphic art business and together we can put together a cool video/story about the automotive hobby.
