Lenny Kravitz brought Muse out on stage for their first GRAMMYs performance. With TV screens high above flashing images of raised fists, the British band rocked their hit “Uprising.”
Lead singer Matthew Bellamy belted out the lyrics, “They will not control us” as a choreographed sequence of masked security guards in black tackled fans rushing the stage.
Muse is up for three GRAMMY Awards: Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocals – (“Resistance”); Best Rock Song – (“Resistance”); and Best Rock Album: (The Resistance).

Great chorus… Random beat that smacked of Golden Earings driving hit beat, the arms that thrysted on the screen behind them were left over from Gorillaz… Was there anything really original about this band save for the fact their a three piece band

Matt Bellamy’s two-piece guitar, the beginning of the song, the people who “broke” the stage, the masterful use of screens, the meaningful lyrics of all their songs, and the fact that they have won a Grammy yesterday makes them one of the most original bands of the UK (and the world, if you ask me). Shall I count more?

Shauna,
Listen to Kasabian and let me know if Muse is still the most original band from the UK. Not a diss to Muse, I really do enjoy them. It just blows my mind how Muse can sell out Staples here, yet Kasabian can’t even get a record on KROQ.

Reverend I don’t know what you’re doing writing about Kasabian (whose songs all sound the same & I can’t even differentiate
them from any other rock band around) when it is M-U-S-E we’re talkin about and who won the Best Rock Album, okay? And please don’t lie, like if your eyes were even open and if you even
saw the Resistance Tour at all, aside from there being these 3
giant video towers, nothing else was the same… I mean, I was
totally surprised by more eye popping visuals at the grammys that no other act that night even came close to. So what’s
disappointing? Oh yah, your band Kasabian did not play. But
I guess if they’re as good as you say, they will make their way
to the U.S. (in their own time). NOW is the time for MUSE, and
I ask so called critics like you not to spoil it for us. Please.

I will be honest, I thought Muse was one of the most dissapointing performances of the night. The Grammy Awards should be a time you go the extra step. Minus the “rioters” it felt as if Muse just kinda phoned the performance home. I mean heck, they even brought their same stage from the two sold out shows at Staples this past fall.
