When news came that the GRAMMY-nominated Arcade Fire was returning to KROQ for an in-studio acoustic performance, we had to pinch ourselves.

Arcade Fire Squeezes Into KROQs Tiny Studio R For An Amazing Acoustic Performance[Photo Gallery] Arcade Fire Load-In And… Arguably the biggest alternative rock band in the world was about to turn themselves into sardines and cram into KROQ’s tiny Studio R.

Will and Win started the evening with some Q&A from Stryker, who’d also interviewed them the last time they were in. As soon as the other band members gave the thumbs up, the two joined their bandmates in Studio R and launched into “Month of May.” Since the band needed to reset their instruments and change positions for “Ready To Start,” it gave Will and Win another chance to hop back into the air studio for some more Q&A with Stryker.

The two then joined Stryker one last time, but this time it was to help call the winner of KROQ’s World Tour Destination #3, who is going to see the band in Valencia, Spain. After the band had left for their tour bus and the engineers were scooping up the miles of cable, their management remarked that it was one of the most fun interviews they’d been a part of.

It's OK, we didn't win our first time either.
When Stryker asked the guys about the GRAMMY awards and what would it mean to win, the response he got was a confident one, “Well when it happens, it’s going to be great. Our lives will never be the same.” They also claim to be a “shoe-in” for the Best Alternative category, and threw a jab towards bands like The Black Keys and Vampire Weekend when they said, “It’s OK, we didn’t win our first time either.”

It's gonna be small and it's mostly just to do a proper punk rock show like we used to when we were in a punk rock band.
When the the guys re-joined Stryker, he began asking them about a possible secret show taking place sometime this week, to which they stated, “It’s gonna be small and it’s mostly just to do a proper punk rock show like we used to when we were in a punk rock band.” They talked about playing “sketchy little shows” and how they like to get back to those every once in a while. You also might want to head over to ArcadeFire.com around 9am for info on that possible secret show…
