Former Korn Guitarist Urges Band To Replace Him

Brian ‘Head’ Welch, formerly the guitarist for Korn, has come out with a statement that pushes for the band to replace him for good.
Welch posted an open letter online, in which he explained that he will never return to band of which he was a founding member of and played in for 12 years. He officially left the band in 2005.
Like all news now-a-days, Welch took to Twitter to discuss his stance on Korn’s future: “Dear Korn. Please let Wes Geer join Korn and take my old place on stage so people will quit telling me to go back to Korn.” It sounds like he wants Korn to move along not for the well-being of the band, but so people will stop bugging him about re-joining the band.
Welch was making reference to formed (hed) PE guitarist Wes Geer, who has been Korn’s touring guitarist for over a year but is still not a permanent member of the band.
Following Welch’s departure six years ago he has since became a devout Christian and has also written two autobiographies and is working on his second solo album.

You have a typo, Should read former Hed PE, not formed.
Likewise, it does not matter if Head goes back or not, Korn has not made a good record since KROQ started playing them (Life is Peachy).

People need to understand that Korn has evolved (something musicians occasionally do to keep us fans entertained and coming back for more), I’d like to call this the Master of Puppets syndrome, get over it people! There will never be another LIP or Korn (1994) album ever again.
As for Head, that guy needs to move on and focus on his own projects, and stop dwelling on the past.

Large serving of haterade for you. What is your musical background? You founded which successful band? I thought so.

Uh Justito KROQ has played KoRn since their self titled album. KoRn is a great band and after Follow The Leader, their albums have been ok. KoRn III has been their best album since Follow The Leader. If these new tracks that are referenced above are KoRn, then it will be just as good.

KROQ was there from the beginning with Blind and Shoots and Ladders from the debut album.

I am fine with bands evolving, in fact I encourage it. No one wants to hear the same album over and over again. Sometimes a band evolves and it’s not my thing (DMB). Other times a band evolves and becomes something way bigger then you ever imagined (AFI). Yet when it comes to Korn, if anything they de-evolved.They got rich, pampered and lost their edge. I was excited for III, but who are we kidding it’s terrible. Korn truly should just give up and call it a day. David/Head had the right idea.

I was always wondering what happened to Head…good for him man! Someone who is actually finding themselves amongst this rubble we call life. That’s all anyone can do these days. Thanks for the insight Sadie! You wonderful interesting person you. I honestly didn’t see any difference with Brian Welch missing when I caught Family Values 06′. I mean, yeah, I was looking for him on stage. I was bummed to realize he wasn’t there. Then Chino walked on stage and he and Korn (“Remaining members”) played “Wicked”. I freaked and the thought of Brian missing wasn’t such a big deal cause once something has been recorded…it will either never be played the same or will forever be played more insanely sicker than it previously was. It’s all in the moment present. If you’re there for it, then enjoy. Otherwise what’s done is done. No use wishing for something that ain’t ever gonna be duplicated again. Just celebrate on whats worth celebrating. Great post Sadie! Glad to know Head isn’t off wasting himself away. He’s doin’ alright. Can’t wait for Korn to come back out for some sick touring! They’re great live.

The band was unbelievably lucky to get Wes Geer for their touring guitarist. Make it permanent.
