OC Rockers Atreyu Announce Indefinite Hiatus

Orange County metalcore outfit Atreyu announced late last week that they are going on an indefinite hiatus, stating that they won’t be writing or touring for a while in order to focus on their numerous side projects.

The band recently wrapped up their tour with Blessthefall and Chiodos, which started and ended here in Southern California. I’m glad they made it clear that they weren’t splitting up, just taking some time to revitalize themselves and hopefully come back full force with some new tunes.

In a series of tweets, singer Alex Varkatzas announced the bands new status:

Hey all.u have asked, so here goes.atreyu is taking a long long break after 11 yrs of rocking.we arnt breaking up but….

We arnt writing recording or touring for a while.simply taking a break to recharge and focus on different parts of our lives. Much love-al

Thanks to everyone who has supported us and given us a reason to exist over the past 11yrs.We hope to see you again 1 day.Until next time-al
