Watch: Young The Giant On Jimmy Kimmel Live!

As a native of Orange County, I share deep admiration and respect for the unquantifiable musical talent that exudes from our streets.
The Irvine based band Young the Giant are one of the latest examples of amazing OC bands, now on the right track to be included among the lore of legendary artists from the area. On Thursday’s Jimmy Kimmel, the band endured their first national television performance, and we’ve got the video after the drop.
Formerly known as The Jakes, Young the Giant grew up performing in local SoCal venues before Kat Corbett solicited the band through Locals Only. Having recently toured with Everest and Minus the Bear, their introduction to the nation on Jimmy Kimmel was unlike any gig antedating Thursday. Drummer Francois Comtois expressed afterward, “I got back off stage and jolted back into my consciousness. That never happens for shows but for the gravity of playing for our first national audience, that did a number on me.”
You can buy their album at a record store near you on Tuesday, January 25th, and stomp over to the Roxy on Saturday, February 26th to see them live. Purchase tickets here.
