Fans of freestyle motocross may be shocked by the following news.

JEREMY “TWITCH” STENBERG ENDS 11-YEAR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE METAL MULISHA

After weeks of speculation and rumors, nine-time X Games Medalist and 2010 LOORRS Super Lite Champion Jeremy Twitch Stenberg announced today that his 11-year relationship with the Metal Mulisha has come to an end.

Commenting on news breaking on espn.com in late December regarding his departure, Stenberg had this to say, “we originally started out as a group of guys that just LOVED to ride dirtbikes and hang out and hey if we could earn a little money doing so – even better!  For me, the Mulisha has gotten away from that these days.  Don’t get me wrong I am appreciative The now very corporate Metal Mulisha was not supportive.
of everything that the Mulisha has meant to me but at the same time I feel like I have been a loyal and constant presence on the team…I continue to compete and win competitions and always try to give back to our fans.  As a company, the now very corporate Metal Mulisha was not supportive of the other things in my career – I think, for some reason, I was being pushed aside so the decision was really inevitable  – it is just that simple.”

Just a month ago Stenberg won the Fan Favorite award at the second annual AFMXA Ramp Awards and two weeks later, in his very first pro season racing off road trucks, Stenberg claimed the 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Super Lite Championship!

The ego of the individual behind the brand leaves no room for the advancement.
Stenberg had this to say regarding the contrary information released by the Metal Mulisha, within the same espn.com break, “I unfortunately will not remain part of the Mulisha family and ride at the compound and be part of the riding trips and still be part of “business as usual” — that could not be further from the case. I still have friends that are on the Mulisha team but things are not “business as usual” at the Mulisha, the ego of the individual behind the brand leaves no room for the advancement of anyone else on the team — so now it’s time for me to leave and do my own deal.”

The nine-time X Games medalist is also filming the VH-1 show “The X-Life,” which will feature vert skater Pierre-Luc Gagnon, BMXer Cory Nastazio, Stenberg, and their significant others, as they go about the day-to-day business within the adrenaline-packed world of action sports. “The X-Life” premieres on January 10th, 2011 at 10:00 PM ET/PT and is executive produced by Cris Abrego for 51 Minds Entertainment, LLC. an Endemol Company and Joe Simpson for JT Entertainment.

As the break further reports — “Stenberg is perhaps the most recognizable rider on the Mulisha team, which includes founder and 11-time X Games medalist Brian Deegan and seven-time medalist Todd Potter.”

Stenberg will announce future plans regarding the pursuit of his own endeavors early 2011 as all contractual obligations to the Metal Mulisha have ended as of December 31, 2010.

I think twitch is completely right and he made the right decision. I’m sick of seeing all these in my streets who are wearing metal mulisha, and they have little or NO idea what mulisha actully is. The metal mulisha was supposed to be about brotherhood and dirtbikes and being hard, hanging out as mates…. That all gave me something to look up to… Thats all gone now and they’ve all grown up but its nice to know one of them was still keen to keep it real. Good on ya Jeremy.

Taylor you are completely right.. up at my school there are people with Metal Mulisha apparal on and i ask them to name 1 rider and they say what do you mean 1 rider and that stuff pisses me off. i remember back when no body could find any M/M gear or anything and everyone knew what they were all about and all that has changed and M/M is now kinda like a preppy team in a way..

Eff the Mulisha.. buncha low brow, flat bill wearing 909 bros.
Without dirt bikes they’d likely all be tweakers out in the land of the dirt people.
On that note, glad Twitch is moving on and getting away from the Mulisha. They were a crutch in his advancement within the industry.

He’s one of the best.I agree with his comment…the man behind Mulisha and ego. He is one of the best fmx riders out there and says what he feels.Hope he does great and I will always support him.Fuck the Corporate Shit….GO TWITCH

Man, you guys sound like a bunch of female groupies on Twitch’s d*ck like white on rice! WTF man, so what, he left MM. I don’t see them selling out anymore than the next, for instance… a reality show?!? So that’s not selling out? If you were a company owner, you would want the world to know about your company too. Umm, that is unless you are an un-motivated m*ther f*cker, who doesn’t want to have sh*t but a local name which would mean, you don’t know any better. Stay small-time if you want to but if you are doing the same thing year after year, then dude you got serious issues. Both are doing their own thing and doing well…how do you sound trying to knock someone that’s out to make his brand a success? Oh – my bad, like a HATER!! Stay smoking weed and drinking and partying and see if you don’t end up like Scummy…looking back in recovery, trying to make a name for yourself while all your crew is passing you by??? (No offense Scummy- I give you credit for going out there and trying, 2nd chances are hard to come by).
Anyways, like I said, I feel sorry that Twitch got so many “Ass Backward” mo-fos following him. If you had the same opportunities they did, you would do the same… that is unless your too busy trying to “keep it real”, real broke…LMAO

Twitch is the sh*t and he is the only reason I liked the mulisha at first the all were the shit and I felt like they were the crew I could see my self in when it startd back when I was 8 and wanted to b them when brian use to say f*** corporations and metal mulisha would never b that well it sure looks like one now and its so true about kids having no idea what they r about or whos even in it so lame ive askd kids that had it on and they would say a metal band…….WHAT THE HELL but yeah im so happy twitch siad the hell with all that and hope he starts some thing up cuz im done giving monye to m/m but good luck twitch hope you do good in the next off raod race and take deegan out for all of us hes FAKE one last thing( R.I.P.
