No Doubt’s 2011 New Years Resolution: To Record New Album

So the holidays are over, and the new year is finally among us which means time for some long-awaited music from No Doubt! Seems like they have had a pretty busy year what with writing new music, making public appearances and even performing at a Paul McCartney tribute.

Like many people who started off the new year having to work, the members of No Doubt did the same and have officially begun recording their new album. But wait, haven’t they been in the studio recording for this whole past year? Well Tom took to the bands Twitter and Message Board to clear things up a bit.

Fans were a bit confused when Tom posted on their Twitter:

It seems as though earlier in the year Gwen sent out an e-mail to her fans stating,  ‘‘It’s been so fun being together everyday. We started writing at Tony’s studio in his house. We just moved to a real studio in the Valley and it makes it all feel like it’s finally happening. We’re recording the first batch of songs that we wrote now and after this we’re gonna go right back in and write some more. ”

So do to all the confusion, and the ton of fan e-mails coming in [I can only imagine] Tom took to the message boards to let everyone know what was going on with No Doubt for the year 2011. They are very determined to finish their album this year, and embark on a world tour in support of that album. I for one cannot wait, and now my new new years resolution is to make sure to catch them in concert when they come back, heaven forbid they go on another hiatus if I miss them.
