My Top 10 Must-See Movies Of 2010

ralphtoptenmovies My Top 10 Must See Movies Of 2010

Happy holidays! At the end of the year, it seems like EVERYBODY releases a list of their favorite movies. So why should I be different? These are my top 10 favorites of 2010, in no particular order, and a little bit about why I dug them.

I’ve tried to include all types of movies here, because 2010 seemed to offer a little something for everybody when it came to moves styles.

1. Shutter Island – DiCaprio and Scorcese? I’m in. I loved this moody, creepy, ghost story, and Scorcese’s visuals were awesome.

2. Hot Tub Time Machine – A throwback to the goofy sex comedies of the ’80′s. One of the few comedies this year that made me laugh out loud.

3. Kick-Ass – My favorite comic-book movie of the year. (Sorry, IRON MAN 2) True (mostly) to the source material and Nic Cage’s performance was a blast.

4. Inception – It’s Leo again, in another wild, weird ride. Loved this “action movie on acid”.

5. Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel – The only documentary on the list, this movie reminded me of why Hef is so much more than just a dude with hot chicks and a cool house. You’ll be surprised how much social change came from the guy who invented the “centerfold”.

6. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World – Another enormously entertaining comic-book flick. Great cast and non-stop fun from beginning to end.

7. Machete – A love-letter to the classic exploitation movies of the 1970′s, Machete provided all the blood, sex and cheesy dialogue I could’ve hoped for.

8. Piranha 3D – Kelly Brook naked, with another chick, making out, underwater, and in 3-D. Enough said.

9. The Town – I love “caper” movies, and this was the best one of the year. Ben Affleck proves that GONE BABY GONE was no fluke, and that he’s the “real deal” when it comes to talented directors.

10. True Grit – The Coen Brothers reunite with Jeff “The Dude” Bridges for one of the most entertaining westerns I’ve seen in years. Great performances all around here.

These are all theatrical films. I’m sure if it was on the big screen he would’ve included it.

shutter island was so predictable … if you saw the trailer, you saw the film.

I love the list except for Machete. I was highly disappointed when I saw it. Scott Pilgrim vs. The world was amazing.

Cool list, only saw:
Hot Tub Time Machine – got what I expected, not bad, and
Inception – one of the best movies of all time!! (Nevermind best of the year!)
All the others were personal picks (except the Doc on Hugh…sounds fantastic tho!) that I haven’t caught yet…
And what about TRON Legacy?!?

Inception is not one of the best movies of all time. Shut up. You probably said the same thing about ’300″ when that came out.

HAHA 300 was PAINFUL to watch…the overacting made me cringe through the entire thing…what a piece of crap. You had to be under 13 physically and/or mentally to think otherwise
