A perfect compliment to a sun-drenched Los Angeles December day, Aussie band The Temper Trap took the small stage by the main gates to interview with Kevin & Bean and tell the dynamic, dorky duo about how they want to spend their holidays doing absolutely nothing that has to do with music.

The last time Kevin & Bean saw The Temper Trap, it was 6:30am in the morning, right around Coachella 2010. Tonight was a completely different vibe, with ambient Christmas lights twinkling above a sea of local indie rock fans, decked out in festive garb.

Kevin and Bean asked the band if this “breakthrough” year has been a whirlwind. The band answered affirmatively:

“Pretty much, but we enjoy every moment of it and we’re looking forward to a holiday in the Bahamas…after three more shows.”

While the band may be interested in being beach boys by getting tans and scuba diving with sharks, they have big plans for the new year:

“[We will] start some writing in February and hopefully we will have something at the end of the year.”

Then they joked, “it’s going to be a record all about hammocks.”

Indie beach pop? Yes, please!
