Kevin and Bean kicked off the night, chatting with a tiara-wearing winner Miss Double December, and then Sacramento alt-rock mainstays, Cake. Cake talked about their new album coming out in 2010, Showroom of Compassion, and how they are hitting the road.
Since Cake is set to embark on a national tour this year, Kevin and Bean asked them their feelings about hitting the road to support the new album. Lead singer John McCrea was candid: “I hate touring, sitting on the bus all day.” Bean’s response: “That’s the Christmas spirit.” Indeed.
As fans poured in the doors, Kevin and Bean posed the obvious question: What the crowd can except for the show tonight? According to McCrea, “New Songs, definitely.” And to that, we say bring it on. Cake will play after The Dirty Heads, so get ready!
