Billie Joe Armstrong Returning To Broadway
After a successful week-long performance in American Idiot the musical earlier this year, lead singer for Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong will return to his role in January.
Armstrong is already gearing up for his 50 performances on Broadway starting New Year’s Day, where he will be performing as St. Jimmy.
Armstrong will be replacing actor Tony Vincent, who is finishing up his run in the musical on December 30 . Speculations regarding Vincent’s departure may be due to soft ticket sales. According to The New York Times, American Idiot has only played to about 50 percent capacity in recent weeks. When Armstrong filled in, American Idiot played to 93.4 percent capacity.
