System Of A Down Announce 2011 European Tour Dates

systemofadown System Of A Down Announce 2011 European Tour Dates

Four painfully long years have passed since [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]System of A Down[/lastfm] announced they would embark on an indefinite hiatus, stressing that after 10+ years of SOAD mayhem, a break would do the boys some good. Fortunately each member of the Armenian-American band was rather busy during their “break.”  Lead vocalist Serj Tankian has produced two mind-blowing solo albums, guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan formed [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Scars on Broadway[/lastfm], and bassist Shavo Odadjian partnered with legendary hip-hop artist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]RZA[/lastfm] to form the group [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]AcHoZeN[/lastfm].

System announced on their website that they will be touring across Europe, partaking in a handful of festivals over the 2011 summer with no U.S. dates planned… yet.

I think it’s about time the System of a Down army rises up and demands the band return for a long overdue reunion.

First a message from the band via their website:

Hello All,

We are excited to announce that System will be playing some dates together in 2011.

We also want to thank you for your loyalty and support, not only to System Of A Down, but to all of our solo efforts as well. We have no master plan of sorts – we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans. We look forward to seeing all of you!

Now let’s see if we can mezmerize the band to return to the States.  Hit up any one or all of SOAD’s social sites linked below.

I’m not surprised. It was inevitable. You can’t keep four extremely talented musicians from doing what they love to do for long. Now we wait for news on a new album in the works. 😀 SOAD FTW

  2. Joe says:

June? Seems like they’d still have spring open for some US dates. Any Coachella possibility?
